Respuesta :
Graphs can be used to represent functions.
See attachment for the graphs of: y =x - 2, y = 0.4x - 2, y =-x - 2
The function is given as: [tex]\mathbf{y = kx - 2}[/tex]
When k = 1,
We have:
[tex]\mathbf{y = 1\times x - 2}[/tex] ----- substitution property of equations
[tex]\mathbf{y = x - 2}[/tex]
So, the equation is: [tex]\mathbf{y = x - 2}[/tex] when k = 1
When k = 0.4,
We have:
[tex]\mathbf{y = 0.4\times x - 2}[/tex] ----- substitution property of equations
[tex]\mathbf{y = 0.4x - 2}[/tex]
So, the equation is: [tex]\mathbf{y = 0.4x - 2}[/tex] when k = 0.4
When k = -1,
We have:
[tex]\mathbf{y = -1\times x - 2}[/tex] ----- substitution property of equations
[tex]\mathbf{y = -x - 2}[/tex]
So, the equation is: [tex]\mathbf{y = -x - 2}[/tex] when k = -1
See attachment for the graphs of: [tex]\mathbf{y = x - 2}[/tex], [tex]\mathbf{y = 0.4x - 2}[/tex] and [tex]\mathbf{y = -x - 2}[/tex]
