I think of a number Then multiply it by 3 then add 4 then divide by 4 my final answer is 3 less than the number is the number i thought of the beginning.

Write it as an equation and solve.

(3x + 4) / 4 = x - 3
3x + 4 = 4x - 12
-x + 4 = -12
-x = -16
x = 16

Check:
(3x + 4) / 4 = x - 3
(3*16 + 4) / 4 = 16 - 3
(48 + 4) / 4 = 13
52 / 4 = 13
13 = 13
