- Triangle law of vector addition states that if two vectors are shown as two sides of the triangle in the order of magnitude and direction, so therefore, the third side of the triangle stands as the magnitude and direction of the resultant vector.
Vectors are often added by simply adding the components individually (A + B) as long as they have the same dimensions. Looking at diagram B, you can see that they are both having the same direction.
By the addition of the two vectors, we have the resultant vector (C). Note that when you add two vectors that are in the same direction, the result must still be in the same direction with the magnitude.
