A lot of times, we can ask ourselves different questions to help us figure out what type of phrase is being asked.

1. The speed boat is moving in a circle.

[] VP - This is a verbal phrase because it shows movement. Where is the speedboat moving? In a circle.

2. Danielle has a colorful bag with her.

[] NP - This is a noun phrase. What does Danielle have? A colorful bag.

3. I am making this project for the entire class.

[] NP - This is a noun phrase. Who is it for? It is for the entire class.

4. Mr peter parker plan to have watched the new movie

[] IP - This is an infinitive phrase. An infinitive is the "basic" form of a verb. To swim, to run, to sing, etc.
