What is Sleep?

Sleep is defined  natural state of rest  which an individual becomes less conscious of the surrounding environment and has reduced muscle and sensory activity which is temporal.

The importance of sleep cannot be over emphasized and it is required that one get at least 8 hours of quality sleep as this helps:

  • the body to repair itself.
  • prevent heart disease, and increased illness duration
  • make brain function optimally
  • impairment of  immunity
