A concession stand sells walking tacos for $3 each and boxes of popcorn for $1 each. Wayne has $10 to spend.

The function y = 10 - 3x represents the number of walking tacos (x) and boxes of popcorn (y) that Wayne can buy.

Which is the only set of ordered pairs that make sense for this situation?

1. { ( -1 , 13 ) , ( 0 , 10 ) , ( 1 , 7 ) , ( 2 , 4 ) }

2. { ( 0 , 10 ) , ( 1 , 7 ) , ( 2 , 4 ) , ( 3 , 1 ) }

3. { ( 1 , 7 ) , ( 2 , 4 ) , ( 3 , 1 ) , ( 4 , -2 ) }

4. None of the above

Answer:

4. None of the above

Step-by-step explanation:

Change the function to

y - 10 + 3x = 0

  • then put y values and x values in in each for every set.

for example

in set 1:

y = 10 - 3x

13 = 10 - 3(-1)

13 = 13 .........cancels out to be 0 as all the other does the same.

For every set the answer at the end is coming 0 whereas it should only be above or less than 0 as he needs more 2 dollar to buy another tacos.
