HELP I REALLY NEED THIS
Read the following passage.
The word "atom" was coined by Democritus, who, unlike Aristotle, believed that matter can be divided only until we get the smallest "indivisible particle." Several years later based on macroscopically observable experimental results, Dalton proposed that all matter is composed of atoms. Many postulates of atomic theory as proposed by Dalton were later rejected by JJ Thompson, who has to his credit the discovery of subatomic particles like electrons.
Use information from the passage to justify whether the characteristics of reliable scientific explanations are present in the development of the atomic theory.

Respuesta :

The characteristics of a reliable scientific explanation can be seen in the development of the atomic theory.

What is the scientific method?

The development of a scientific idea must always follow the scientific method. The scientific method involves the proposition of a hypothesis, experimentation and confirmation or disapproval of the initial hypothesis.

There was the deep involvement of the scientific method in the development of the atomic theory since their was experimentation at certain points to confirm or disprove the propositions. As we can see, Dalton's initial ideas were laid aside as stronger empirical evidences emerged.
