Barometer - They are the device used to measure the air pressure

There are two types of barometer -

  1. Aneroid barometers
  2. Mercurial barometers

The main diffrences between both the barometers are -

  • There is a hairspring in aneroid barometer that contracts or relax on changing the pressure but in mercurial barometer there is no such spring there is mercury column in tube which rise or fall depending on the pressure
  • In Aneroid barometers metals are used where as in mercurial barometer mercury itself tells the atmospheric pressure.
