If you think about it in money, 1 quarter is 1/4 of a dollar. If I have 3 quarters (3 out of 4 parts of the whole dollar) I have 75 cents. Thinking about fractions as money can help a lot. If 3/4 =75%, then you can subtract 71 from 75. We know that 75-71=4. Oh p.s. 0.71 is the same as 71% just like one dime, 0.10 is 10% of a dollar. I hope that helps : )
