Since on the triangle I show one line and another side with one line that means that those are equal as well as the sides with two lines so you can write the equations lime this
4/3y + 2 = 4y - 4 (to solve for y)
3x - 4 = x + 1 ( to solve for x)
HOPE THIS HELPS!!

Jazzy !  Jazzy !  The whole trick here is to remember what those
little 'tick marks' across the sides of the triangle mean, and I"m
pretty sure that you KNOW what they mean !

Each piece of the longest side has two tick marks across it, like this . . . / / .
That means that the two pieces are equal.

So            4/3 y + 2  =  4y - 4     and you can find the value of ' y ' .

Similarly, each piece of the bottom side has one tick mark across it . . .  /  .
That means that the two pieces are equal.

So            3x - 4  =  x + 1        and you can find the value of ' x ' .

Are you chuckling nervously yet ?
