Reflect on Act 3. Consider the role of violence in this section and its effects. Write a paragraph explaining how violence actually creates more problems than it solves. Use an example from Romeo and Juliet as well as a modern-day example to support your point.

Answer: Mercutio thought it was bravery what he had, and in the end, his death didn`t have much meaning. It`s like fighting for a cop who hasn`t done anything wrong for example, you will get punished in either jail or worst. You just don`t mess with people in power on top of that, so that`s also an important perspective to keep in mind. Going back to what I was saying, the violence in this scene was pointless, and it caused more problems than solutions.

Explanation: On top of everything, they both die in the end. In a modern world Romeo and Juliet they would have run away, but Shakespeare`s dramatization and what was appreciated in the time period it was appropriate for the consequences to be so final.
