Why did people from Indigenous cultures not claim land?
The land was too expensive to claim.
They did not believe in private property.
The land was controlled by Indigenous leaders.
They believed European settlers owned the land.
this means that Indigenous lands could be occupied and used by the Crown (or whomever the Crown handed control to) as long as they were not altered or damaged.
