The definition of archaic is basically old, out of date, etc (see: archaeology)- the second definition probably stopped being used years ago. Where, then, would you be most likely to see it? In an everyday conversation, in a professional's writing, in a modern newspaper, or in a much older text?

Most likely B. If someone was doing a report on this condition, they would be required to define it rather then just say the name. If it is not B, then it is C, perhaps reporting someone who was suffering from the condition.
