Frank McCourt is an Irish American teacher as well as a writer. The Angela's Ashes was one of the top seller and also won Pulitzer Prize.

What is Angela's Ashes?

Angela's Ashes was named so on the basis of ashes which fall from Angela's cigarettes and those in the fireplace at which she stares blankly

This was controvertial because Paddy Malone, a schoolmate of McCourt's appeared on the original cover in a class photograph which allegedly ripped up the book in front of the author.

Some have also accused him of exaggerating the family's poverty and the 'misery' of Limerick city.

This story was from a viewpoint of young Frank's childhood in Ireland.

Thus, it can be concluded that Angela's Ashes was one of the top-selling and controversial.
