FEPRA The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 is a United States federal law that governs the access to educational information and records by public entities such as potential employers, publicly funded educational institutions, and foreign governments.
FEPRA have certain regulations that provides us with following rights:
- FERPA regulations require that local education agencies give annual notification to parents and eligible students of their rights under FERPA (34 CFR § 99.7). The law does not require agencies to notify parents and eligible students individually, but agencies must provide notification where they are likely to see it.
- Unless there is proof that these rights have been revoked or restricted by a court order or state legislation, any parent is entitled to access a student's educational records. If a student is qualified and the parent claims the kid as a dependant for income tax reasons, the parent may view the student's educational records. Before granting access to information, however, authorities may demand proof of the requester's relationship to the kid.
CONCLUSION
Parental access to information is only permitted for their own kid or children. In order to prevent parents from having access to the records of any other children, any information about other students that is included in the education record must be deleted before distribution.
