if you can its so important for you to say after the second term George Washington gave up power for the sake of democracy which in those days didnt really happen. revolutionaries and kings didnt give up power. but washington did for the sake of the system : democracy

what makes america & washington different from european democracy and revolutions is that american has political freedom and CULTURAL & ECONOMIC freedom. europeans felt the people could NOT be trusted to make the right decisions. in europe revolutions sometimes meant no religion or only a few allowed. Washington & founders said ALL religions are ok. Washington felt the people could be trusted. in europe it meant in economics : communism or socialism with heavy state or monarchical intervention. but america has had capitalism which is a form of freedom. to business without the kings permission and without the permission of the state. point of the second amendment and of the founding fathers like washington was to NOT have a standing army because it was thought of as a risk of being undemocratic. it was thought to make those in power might possibly use a standing army to stay in power illegally. to not have an army was a very new and unusual step for a country to take. in the case of war a draft would be used to create an army and after a war was done the army was supposed to be disbanded. this was not done anywhere else and the idea was revolutionary.
