President Nixon,  the 37th President of the United States stated that consumers have the right to service. The right added by the President Nixon is the fifth right. Consumer safeguards such as consumer rights push companies to provide goods and services that are advantageous and secure for customers.

President Kennedy gave a speech to the US Congress on March 15, 1962, in which he praised four fundamental consumer rights that would eventually become known as the Consumer Bill of Rights. The four basic consumer rights declared  by the President are – the right to be safe, the right to be informed, the right to choose freely and the right to be heard.
