given that

group of 120 pet lovers was asked about the pets they have.

It was revealed that 62 have a dog, 50 have a cat, and 40 haye a bird as pets.

Also, 20 have a dog and a cat, 13 have a cat and a bird, 12 have a dog and a bird, and 5 have all three as pets.

by using given information

dog and cat, no birds = 20-5=15

cat and bird, no dogs = 13-5= 8

dog and bird, no cat = 12-5=7

so,

[tex]dogs= 62-15-5-7=35[/tex]

[tex]cats = 50-20-8=22[/tex]

[tex]birds=40-8-8-5=20[/tex]

the number of pet lovers

[tex]pet \: lovers= 120-62-22-8-20=8[/tex]
