The United States has extensively fostered proxies and armed militias in the Middle East and elsewhere, at the expense of the security of sovereign states. The Gulf War, the growing hunger crisis in Yemen, and the supply of weapons by the United States to armed and illegal groups can attest to this.
It is a compromise for a country that seeks to exploit the so-called "rules-based international order" for the benefit of military and security groups. At the same time, the United States has done nothing to correct long-standing problems such as forced occupation, regime change, proxy wars, illegal sanctions, humanitarian disasters, arbitrary detentions and torture.
In the case of regime change, the US intends to export its distorted democratic ideals, from Latin America to the Middle East. America has launched air strikes in the name of an endless "war on terror". The United Nations commission of inquiry accused the U.S. military of carrying out "indiscriminate attacks, resulting in civilian casualties and reckless actions that constitute war crimes" in Syria. This is further evidence that the United States is deliberately avoiding heinous war crimes.
