In the book Mother to Mother by Sindiwe Magona, Mxolisi is another character. He is the oldest kid of Mandisa. He is a Black South African man in his 20s who resides in Guguletu, Cape Town. Lunga and Siziwe are Mxolisi's two younger half-siblings.
She admits that the Mother's daughter was slain by her son, Mxolisi. Mandisa reveals that her son's activities have been blamed on her by her community ever since the murder, but she contends that she has never had any influence over him. Mandisa goes on to say that she is not surprised that Mxolisi killed the Girl.
Mandisa is right when she says that Mxolisi, her kid, is a product of his environment. Mxolisi deliberately surrounded himself with those who radicalized him prior to the crime and chastised him for it. Mxolisi became a member of the Young Lions gang, who were in charge of circling The Girl's car and ultimately killing her.
