The two writers link games to leisure by saying how in the past games were more ritualistic but usually the wealthiest of people would play games because they had the leisure time to enjoy them. In text 2 the author says "over the last 40 years" and then says how video games have become a staple of leisure activitys worldwide showing that over time games have evolved to become a leisure activity for everyone.
