That policy relied on local government ordinances and real estate agencies to govern how loans were permitted, and almost exclusively formalized the redlining of minority neighborhoods and communities. The law forbids discrimination in most households based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, marital status, and disability, and provides an extensive list of prohibited matters.
