Human height is an example of a polygenic trait. Polygenic traits refer to traits that are controlled by more than one non-allele. These genes are called polygenes. They are groups of genes that are expressed as a unit when turned on. Each of them produces an effect that adds to the trait, apart from height skin color and eye color are also examples of polygenic traits.

Polygenic traits do not follow the patterns of Mendelian inheritance. Several polygenic traits are affected by the surroundings and are called multifactorial.
