Chemical equilibrium known as homogeneous equilibrium occurs when each reactant and product are in the same phase.
When all species are present and in the same phase, the equilibrium is said to be homogeneous. Reactions in the gaseous phase or in solutions are typical examples.

For instance, in a container containing both ice and water at a temperature that permits the coexistence of both phases, ice and water are both present and in an equilibrium state.
