In the human body, the retina forms an image, but the lens generates an image we can see. gather and focus light
The lens works together with the cornea to focus light correctly on the retina. When light hits the retina a light-sensitive layer of tissue at the back of the eye, special cells called photoreceptors turn the light into electrical signals.
The human eye lens is convex in nature and forms real and inverted images and when the object is kept before the focus point and the center of the lens it forms virtual and erect images.
The retina is a lining inside the back of the eyeball that contains light-sensitive receptors rods and cones. It receives light rays from the lens, forming an image. Light enters the eye through the transparent cornea, and passes through the aqueous humor, the lens, and the vitreous humor, where it finally forms an image on the retina.
