What did Roger Williams and Anne Hutchinson do?
Roger Williams was of the opinion that there should be religious freedom in the Massachusetts Colony and that there should be a separation between church and state.
Anne Hutchinson also called for more freedom in religion in the colony. These opinions were not looked upon kindly by the leaders of the colony who then banished them both.
They then went and founded the Rhode Island Colony which had more religious freedom than the Massachusetts colony.
