What is a constitution?

A constitution refers to the fundamental laws that guide the dealings of all societies. The United States is governed by some laws. The constitution makes this very clear to every citizen who can access a copy of it.

Just like modern societies, the ancient native Iroquois nation was also guided by a set of laws that controlled the way and manner people behaved.

Having known the concept of the United States Constitution, we can deduce that the Iroquois constitution will include the basic laws of the land, the reasons that prompt those laws, ways of appointing representatives, etc.
