Answer: to start with, the voice is the oldest instrument known to man. It is described as the vocal cords vibrating.
The layer comes into play when the vocalist is performing with others. The balance between all musicians must be maintained. Even if the vocalist performs solo, they'll most likely have piano accompaniment.

Musical Texture means music to have necessarily bass, rhythm, harmony that are considered to be the important embellishments in music without all these a music is incomplete and not good to be listened to.

  • Music should have melody but there are other things as well without which a music is incomplete.
  • Music without this thickness is called as a thin layered music.
  • There are different types of music textures like monophony, polyphony, and homophony.
  • The instrumental layer is incomplete with the voice that offers different tones to the music that  gives it the taste that makes it very beautiful.
