A stereotype is a widely held, simplified, and essentialist belief about a specific institution. groups are often stereotyped on the basis of sex, gender identity, race and ethnicity, nationality, age, socioeconomic fame, language, and so on. Stereotypes are deeply embedded inside social institutions and wider culture. Stereotypes are characteristics that society instinctively attributes to organizations of people to classify them according to age, weight, occupation, skin colour, gender, and so on.

Stereotype is most frequently now employed to consult an often unfair and untrue belief that many people have about all people or things with a particular characteristic.

Stereotype threat leads to a vicious circle. Stigmatised people experience anxiety which depletes their cognitive sources and leads to underperformance, affirmation of the terrible stereotype and reinforcement of the concern.
