The competing style of conflict management is high in terms of our own outcomes and low in terms of others' outcomes.

This style involves one dominant person who attempts to achieve their goals at the expense of other parties who are involved. This is worked in power-driven mode and takes little or no discussion with the other team members. A competing style of conflict is very essential at times of crisis when quick decisions require to be made.

An example of a competing style of conflict is when a customer enters our premises and starts shouting without any reason. The customer also starts to insult the other customers who are present at the premises. This customer may also try to physically harm other people. so the best sort of action in such a circumstance taken by the management will be to conflict with the customer.
