What is an Enzyme?

This is refereed to a biological catalyst which speeds up the rate of a chemical reaction. They contain  amino acids and are referred to as protein which can be denatured when in contact with high amount of heat or chemicals.

The enzyme has an active site which is where it catalyzes the substrate such as carbohydrate etc and its shape also determines the type of reaction involved.

This is therefore the reason why reaction was chosen as the most appropriate choice.
