These are anoles that live on the top branches of trees; they share a few physical traits, including as very large bodies, large heads, extensive subdigital lamellae, and serrated dorsal crests. The majority of species are green.
Male anoles battle other adult males and court females using brightly coloured skin flaps behind their necks, known as dewlaps. Dewlaps also enable lizards to discriminate between members of their own species and those of other species.
The presence of identical ecomorph classes on several islands is explained by many theories. According to one theory, each ecomorph only underwent one evolution, and animals that belong to the same ecomorph are closely linked to one another.
