The muscles that move the eyes and eyelids and the muscles that adjust pupil size and lens shape are innervated by the oculomotor nerve.

Pupil is the round shaped part present in the center of the eye. Its function is to regulate the amount of light reaching the retina through the eye. It appears black in color. The ability of contraction is because of the smooth muscles present in the pupil. This regulation is known as pupillary light reflex.

Oculomotor nerve is the cranial nerve that controls the eye movement. The oculomotor nerve (CN III) provides motor function for all eye muscles except those supplied by cranial nerves IV and VI.  The nerve is subdivided into two parts: the superior branch and the inferior branch.
