This man was a judge and a prophet in the old testament. He was one of those that was dedicated to the service of God in the bible and he helped to represent God before the people.

In the bible we were told that at the time that God called Samuel, he had felt that the person was calling him was Eli and he ran to Eli to reply but it turned out not to be him.
