Order from least to greatest
-1.2, 2.7, -3.1, -0.3
Don’t you order it with the highest negative to the lowest negative then the last should be the positive?

In this scenario, least -> greatest, it would go as following;

-3.1, -1.2, 0.3, 2.7

The higher you get in the negative numbers, the less it is. I apologize if it’s confusing, let me know if you’d like a more in depth response!
