It is a true statement that the anglo-american settlers in Texas always did what the Mexican government asked them to do.

Who were the Anglo Texans?

The Texians were Anglo-American residents of Mexican Texas, which was later known as the Republic of Texas. In modern history, the term "Texians" is identify with early settlers of Texas, most especially those who supported the Texas Revolution.

These settlers of Americans were primarily from steadily advancing frontier of the United States who had major impact on the political and cultural development of Texas. Even though Anglo Americans had explored parts of the territory during Spanish colonial, they only began staying or arriving in much larger numbers after when the Spanish were thrown out and the territory came under the rule of an independent Mexico (1821-1836).

The main attraction for the Anglo Americans was Mexican government's empresario policy which awarded land grants to settlers. So, it remained uncertain how many Anglo Americans lived in the major settlements by the time Texas won its independence, but estimates in 1836 gives about 30,000, 3,500 Tejanos, 14,200 Native Americans and 5,000 slaves.
