BIG IDEAS MATH apter 2: Solving Systems of Linear Inequalities > Section Exercises 2 The following points are the vertices of a triangle (0, -2),(4,6),(4, -2) a. Write a system of linear inequalities that represents the point inside

We can write the inequalities with the biggest and smaller value of x and y so for x the biggest value is 4 and the smallest one is 0 so
[tex]0\le x\le4[/tex]and for y the maximun value is 6 and the minumun value is -2 so:
[tex]-2Now for the area of the triangle we need the base (B) and the hight (H). So the base will be the domain of x so[tex]B=4-0=4[/tex]and the hight is the range of y so:
[tex]H=6-(-2)=8[/tex]Now we can calculate the area (A) with the formula:
[tex]\begin{gathered} A=\frac{B\cdot H}{2} \\ A=\frac{4\cdot8}{2} \\ A=16 \end{gathered}[/tex]
