There are three different kinds of sunnah. The prophet's sayings, also known as Sunnah Qawliyyah or Hadith, come first. The second is indeed the Sunnah Al Filiyya, the deeds of the prophet. The last category of Sunnah is Sunnah Taqririyyah, which refers to customs that were common during the time of Muhammad and to which muhammad did not object.
Because the Messenger, peace being upon him, consumed meat without hesitation, flesh is unquestionably a food that conforms to the sunnah. The Quran frequently refers to fish and meat from animals as being given by Allah (SWT) for our use.
