First, find the area of the circle A=pi r^2 = 3.14 (8)^2=200.96 
the radius is half the diameter so r=16/2=8

Second, find the area of the triangle A=(hb)/2=(8*16)/2=64
since the triangle is resting on the diameter of the circle that means the height of the triangle is also the radius of the circle so h=8 and b=16 

Third, subtract the area of the triangle from the area of the circle to find the area of the shaded regions.
