The Queen Gertrude is a weak woman character. In their dramatic confrontation, Hamlet orders her to admit her mistakes.
According to her son, Gertrude was a murderer, instead this she is weak. Even if she did not actively commit the murder of her husband, she might have helped or even encouraged the crime. The Queen shouldn't have married his siblings, especially so soon after the unexpected death of her dead husband. It was rude and insulting to her grieving son. Hamlet had every right to be incensed, even if Claudius hadn't killed his father. She flinches in horror as her son rages in front of her. however, it will kill me. Even if a strong woman had predicted that her son would kill her, she wouldn't have been in danger of doing so. She would have fought him off and maintained her innocence. She cries out that his comments are "daggers" rather than challenging him. She is unable to handle the reality. Hamlet, you have torn my heart in two.
