What is Big Five Personality?
Big five personality is a personality theory by Allport and Cattel. They assumed that human has 5 traits with one trait dominated. Those 5 broad personalities can be explained as follows:
- Agreeableness : People with this trait tend to be an altruistic people toward others, they spread positive energy too. While, people with low level of this trait tend to not nice socially such as anti-social attitude, manipulative, etc.
- Openness : includes human nature that is open to new experiences, creative, and thinks abstractly. People with low level of openness tend to think only around their capability and seems more traditional.
- Extraversion : Individuals who have this trait tend to enjoy the social life and easy to adapt with new environment and social circles. In contrast, people with low level of this trait tend to enjoy their personal life more.
- Conscientiousness : Individuals who have this trait tend to be emotionally controlled and planned in decision making. People with low level of conscientiousness tend to hate scheduled task, and likely do a procrastination to the main task.
- Neuroticism : People with this trait tend to be unstable emotionally, in contrast, people with lower level of this trait tend to be stable emotionally.
