A horizontal force with a magnitude of 3.0 newtons applied to a 7.0 kilogram mass moves the mass horizontally a distance of 2.0 meters. Determine the work done against gravity in moving the mass.
What is the formula that you use?

Respuesta :

The work done on an object is the product of the force applied and the distance in which the object moved in the same direction as the force. In the given item above,
                                   W = F x d
Substituting the known values,
                                 W = (3 N) x (2 m) = 6 Nm
                                    W = 6 J
