Normally, when you do historical research you need to read multiple texts about the same events because not all of them have the same descriptions or details. For example, if you read about the discovery of a mummy, some texts will simply say "this mummy was found in 1776" but others could write who found it, how, why, etc. For organizing your thoughts while reading a single document it is good to: (1) Take good notes using colons and other punctuation, (2) discuss the information with peers, and (3) understand where you agree or disagree with others on the subject
