Radiation transfers thermal energy from the sun to earth by electromagnetic waves. Electromagnetic waves transfer energy with or without matter.
The radiation transfer thermal energy from the Sun to Earth by means of electromagnetic waves.
When unstable nucleus of atoms are converted to most stable form, then some amount of energy is released during the process. These energy is in the form of electromagnetic waves, also known as radiations.
- Sun is made up of composition of hydrogen and helium gases, where the unstable nuclei of helium try to attend its stabilized form.
- To do so, helium ions loose electrons which is gained by the hydrogen atoms.
- Loosing an electron causes the helium ion to gain stability and during this process some energy in the form of electromagnetic waves are released.
- These energy is known as radiation energy which has very high intensity and tend to reach to earth from sun.
Thus, we can conclude that the radiation transfer thermal energy from the Sun to Earth by means of electromagnetic waves.
