Part C Directions – Research and write a paper on genetics and how the study of genetic impacts society.
Paragraph 1 – go to this site: https://www.genome.gov/AboutGenomics/Introduction-to-Genomics . Read through the entire page. Summarize the basic information about the science of genetics: what is it, when did it start, how does DNA relate, etc.
Paragraph 2 and 3 – research the impact of genetics on society. Each paragraph should include one specific example, with supporting details and references.
Paragraph 4 – time to use your imagination! Look to the future, and predict what impact the use of gene-editing software could have on society. Include one pro and one con. (A very well-known gene-editor is CRISPR)
