The classmate didn't add them up all right. The first one equals 29 and the false similar one was 47

A classmate says that a rectangular prism that is 6 cm long, 8 cm wide, and 15 cm high is similar to a rectangular prism that is 12 cm long, 14 cm wide, and 21 cm high. The error in this is that they are not in the same proportion.

What do we mean by in the same proportion?

"a part or thing in size relative to other parts or things "

here, the first rectangular prism has length  = 6 cm, width = 8cm and height 15cm.

the second rectangular prism has length  = 12 cm, width = 14 cm and height 21cm.

The length to length ratio is 1:2

and width to width ratio is 1:2

While height to height ratio is 5:7

So, the prism are not in same ratio.
