I believe the answer would be A) the fetus does not have fully developed lungs. When a baby is born at 32 weeks or less, there is a higher chance of the baby being born with respiratory problems because of the lungs being premature. Hope this helped!

The fetus will be fully developed after 37 weeks, during which all the organ systems are well developed and the main organ which is the lungs that devlops after 32 weeks. So option A is correct.

What is fetal development?

Fetal development is the sequence of all the growth patterns seen during intrauterine life starting from zygote to fully mature baby. Lung development completes in 32 weeks of intra uterine life. As lungs have to produce surfactant which is responsible to prevent the alveoli from colapsing. Alveoli are the functional units of the lungs that allow air diffusion.

As a fetus produces surfactant for up to 32 weeks hence chance of survival of ferous is increased after 32 weeks. so option A is correct.
