Hughes, Langston. “I, Too, Sing America.”
I need to find the theme of that poem so I can write an essay about it. Can someone help me? You can look the poem up on google n its a very short poem. Thanks :)
The theme of this poem by Langston Hughes is that a black person ( man) is also a representative of the American. In the poem the speaker speaks of how he works everyday as a servant while the white people he serves dines. It seems that when he come to the table everyone else leaves and that he can never eat with the white man . But still the black man knowns that he is a proud American who ancestors were the slaves.
