Let [tex]x[/tex] is the smaller of two numbers. The larger of two numbers is equal to [tex]2x+5[/tex]
If we subtract smaller number from larger, we get 12.
[tex]2x+5-x=12[/tex]
We have to solve this.
[tex]2x-x=12-5[/tex]
[tex]x=7[/tex]
We get the smaller number.
The larger one:
[tex]2x+5=2\cdot 7+5=19[/tex]

Answer: Two numbers we are looking for are 7 and 19.
