In John Steinbeck’s “The Turtle,” how does Steinbeck portray the turtle? anxious and hurried slow but persistent amused and playful tired but happy

I would say "slow but persistent." ☺♥

The right answer is slow and persistent. Steinbeck says that the turtle never gives up until he makes it to the other side of the highway.
